XCMG Rotary Drilling Rig Successfully Crossed Through the World’s Longest Mountain
Recently, XCMG XZ11000 and XZ6600 horizontal directional drilling machines crossed in opposite directions, completing the world's longest mountain crossing project - Xiangshan CR Gas Project, with a length of 3960 meters, breaking multiple industry construction records.
In recent years, the socio-economic development of Xiangshan in Ningbo, Zhejiang has been rapid, and the demand for clean energy is increasing day by day. This project is the high-pressure phase II project of Xiangshan Gas Co., Ltd. The pipeline is designed with a pressure of 1.6-4.0 MPa, a diameter of DN400, and a designed annual gas transmission capacity of 210 million cubic meters. After completion, it can solve the problem of energy scarcity in the Xiangshan area.
The directional gas pipeline project for the mountain crossing section, with a total length of 3.94 kilometers, is currently the world's longest mountain crossing project. It involves drilling into the rock immediately, and the entire construction process is carried out in rock formations with a maximum burial depth of 460 meters and a horizontal drop of 60 meters. It faces construction difficulties such as mountain water gushing, fractured zones, holes and cracks, guided needle threading, and limited site.
The XZ11000 and XZ6600 ultra large tonnage directional drilling rigs of XCMG have passed through strata with a rock hardness of over 100 MPa and a mountain height of 400-500 meters. On July 17th, the main pipe successfully completed the tow and ended the work ahead of schedule. The entire process has zero faults, high quality and efficiency, and has received high praise from users.
Coinciding with the successful crossing of the world's longest mountain crossing project, the Xiangshan China Resources Gas Project, XCMG Foundation invited more than 50 industry association leaders, experts, major industry clients, and regional benchmark clients to gather in Xiangshan to observe and exchange construction techniques for ultra long mountain crossing on site. At the exchange meeting, XCMG released its large-tonnage core technology and electric drive drilling rigs, sparking a wave of orders.
