XCMG Multifunctional Drills Stop Leakages in Philippines
Semirara island is located in the central
Philippines. It boasts a hot climate, abundant rainfall and prosperous
fisheries. Semirara Coal Mine and Power Company is the largest coal producer in
the Philippines with an annual coal export to China of 8 million tons.
Two major leakages appeared in the deepest
point of open-pit mining area. A large amount of seawater poured back, and the
total water yield is about 3000m ³/ h. It has seriously affected the production
and operation of the coal mine. In order to solve the urgent problem, 12
pumping pumps kept working day and night, but still couldn’t stop the influx of
seawater.
Several large machines gathered at the scene, trying to solve the problem. Diaphragm wall hydraulic grab was applied to excavate, but no leakage tunnel was found. The constructor also made a mud pit, purchased clay and used grouting equipment. However, backflow of seawater could not be stopped.
Finally, the constructor decided to build a
concrete protective wall about 3km long and 70m deep.
The constructor therefore contacted XCMG
office in the Philippines. The office staff immediately contacted technical
experts in China and had in-depth discussions. The team answered customer
concerns one by one and worked out a plan.
XCMG inspected the site and developed a set
of all-round and executable construction methods. Three XCMG XMZ120
multi-function drilling rigs equipped with high-pressure rotary jet power heads
and triple high-pressure rotary jet drill pipe were selected to carry out the
plan.
XCMG multi-functional drilling rig is mainly
used for foundation pit support anchor cable drilling, slope anchor cable
drilling, tunnel grouting drilling, tunnel rescue drilling, micro piling,
high-pressure jet grouting etc. The maximum torque of XMZ120 power head is
14.1kn.m. Good power, adjustable speed ratio of power head, wide application range,
extended mast and rotary spray auxiliary arm, 15m maximum single rotary spray
depth. It is a ‘sharp tool’ for grouting drilling.
The service personnel of XCMG in the
Philippines went to the construction site to offer training, the customers were
enthusiastic and took notes carefully about the machine. Everyone was excited
when the machine was delivered. XCMG's service personnel patiently and
carefully guided the customer to use the equipment, and discussed the specific
construction details with them. With the work process pushing forward, the
amount of water at the water leakage gradually decreased. The customer
excitedly told XCMG: ‘We stopped two more pumps today, XCMG is good!’
After four months of concerted efforts, the
leakage of Semirara coal mine was effectively solved, and XCMG brand was
greatly recognized by customers.
