Eight years! 2000 Units XCMG Equipment Supported the Largest Single Refinery In the World
Over 8 years, with a total investment of $19 billion, the Dangote Refinery, was recently built and put into operation in Lagos, Nigeria, greatly alleviating the current situation of West Africa importing fuel from abroad.
Nigeria is the largest oil producing country in Africa, but due to the aging and poor maintenance of refinery equipment, the daily oil production was even less than 445000 barrels, and the dependence on gasoline imports exceeded 80%.
At the end of 2014, Nigeria Dangote Group decided to invest in the construction of Dangote Refinery to completely solve this problem. The local natural environment is harsh, and Lagos, where the project is located, is a coastal city with high temperatures, high humidity, and a lot of dust, which needs higher requirements for the adaptability and reliability of engineering machinery and equipment.
Through communication with clients, XCMG has established a dedicated 5000 square meter service and spare parts base for the project, and has established the “XCMG Dangote Project Team” with service engineers and product managers. This not only provides timely, thoughtful, and efficient services, but also cultivates a large number of local operators and maintenance service personnel for the project team.
For the past 8 years, in the construction of the Dangote Refinery project, XCMG's complete set of equipment has been continuously working 24 hours a day, and its precision performance is commendable. Behind the construction of the project, there are countless Chinese wisdom and solutions. Cranes, excavators, road rollers, loaders, rotary drills, pump trucks... More than 2000 equipment from XCMG have witnessed this historic project. Now, Dangote Refinery has been put into operation, and XCMG has also contributed its own strength in the process of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" between China and countries along the route.
