Chongqing's first unmanned paving construction of a long tunnel in a mountainous area

Recently, XCMG's complete set of road equipment with intelligent construction technology has once again demonstrated its outstanding strength in the field of transportation construction in Chongqing. In the construction of the Dingjia extra-long tunnel of the Wuyunkai Expressway project, it successfully broke through technical difficulties such as the lack of satellite signals in the extra-long tunnel in the mountainous area, and successfully implemented unmanned spreading and compacting cluster construction, creating a precedent for intelligent construction in Chongqing tunnels.



Wuyunkai Expressway (Wuxi to Kaizhou) belongs to the 33rd link of the "Four Rings, Twenty-two Radials and Sixty Links" in the Chongqing Expressway Network Planning. It is 118.62 kilometers long and has a bridge-tunnel ratio of up to 61%. It is a typical mountainous area with great construction difficulty.



At the construction site, the technicians controlled the XCMG paver first through the handheld dispatching terminal, followed by 5 double-steel wheel rollers.


The digital cloud platform in the tunnel shows that the "leading" paver evenly spreads the asphalt mixture, and the 5 rollers compact in tacit cooperation, showing the powerful collaborative operation ability of XCMG's complete set of road equipment with intelligent construction technology.



The project leader introduced that "unmanned paving requires very high positioning accuracy, especially in long tunnels in mountainous areas, there are technical problems such as weak satellite signals, which makes construction extremely difficult."


Through the application of radar exploration + Beidou positioning, intelligent perception + fusion computing and task collaboration, XCMG's complete set of road equipment for intelligent construction technology effectively solves the tunnel signal problem, realizes automatic planning of construction paths and efficient coordination of machine groups, and ensures accurate and stable construction process.
