On October 14th, the award ceremony of the "2023 Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award" and the 2023 China Mechanical Engineering Society Conference were held in Dalian, Liaoning, to commend and reward the 429 scientific and technological awards selected. XCMG had 12 projects on the list, including 2 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 2 third prizes.

XCMG Heavy's "Research and Application of Cable Reel and Automatic Telescopic Control Method for Telescopic System of Wheeled Crane" and XCMG Foundation's "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Super-large Pile Foundation Construction Equipment for Large-diameter Deep Piles in Hard Strata" were highly praised and won the first prize of scientific and technological progress.

"Research and Application of Cable Reel and Automatic Telescopic Control Method for Telescopic System of Wheeled Crane", this project was led by Li Ge, a skilled craftsman of heavy industry, in collaboration with technical personnel, combining the practical experience gained from long-term work on the front line with technological innovation, based on the innovative motion perception cable reel development, with intelligent telescopic control technology as the main line, jointly broke through the three major difficulties of accurate perception, accurate control and accurate diagnosis of telescopic arm motion state. This is also the only project in this selection that is led by a front-line skilled worker, fully demonstrating the innovation ability of XCMG craftsmen, and achieving a new breakthrough in the innovation achievements of front-line employees.

"Key Technologies and Industrialization of Super-large Pile Foundation Construction Equipment for Large-diameter Deep Piles in Hard Strata", this project focuses on the design and development of a series of super-large tonnage rotary drilling rigs, which are widely used in major strategic and livelihood projects such as Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, Sichuan-Tibet Railway, Hangzhou Asian Games Transportation Facilities, etc., and exported to projects along the "Belt and Road". This project meets the needs of large-diameter, deep-pile, hard-strata complex geological conditions for pile foundation construction of large-scale bridges across rivers and seas in China, fundamentally breaking the long-term dependence on imports of super-large tonnage rotary drilling rigs, greatly improving the economic benefits of foundation construction.
