XGC400-I crawler crane is at work along the Gulf of Guinea, building Lekki Port, one of the largest deep-water ports in West Africa.

The budget of the port project will exceed USD 1 billion. XCMG and China Harbour collaborate to build the port, which will promote changes in the economic landscape of West and Central Africa.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari stated on 2nd July, “Laiki Port will create a large number of jobs and better life for Nigerians. Meanwhile it will attract foreign investments and improve business environment.”

The project faced with various thorny situations such as blocks in the construction area and complex construction environment. However, these problems were solved one by one with the presence of XCMG crawler cranes.

Mr. Huang is the driver of XGC400-I crawler crane. As the front-line worker, he told us:

“XGC400-I was purchased specially for the Lekki port project, and it is the largest crane in this project. In the last 8 months, I have been driving XGC400-I. Its controllability and micro-motion are perfect. I am satisfied with its performance!”

The flexible superlift luffing system enables it to realize stepless luffing of super lift radius according to space and performance requirements. In addition, it is equipped with a high-powered engine and four-wheel drive. No matter how narrow the field is, XGC400-I crawler crane can operate freely.

The current shipping freight of container transportation have increased by nearly 50% compared to the same period last year. Lekki Port will expand the African shipping network and reduce the cost of international trade logistics. As the golden signboard of Chinese equipment in Africa, XCMG will further help with the transportation networks and improve the living standard in Africa.
