XCMG “Titan” Explores African Rainforest
Deep in
African rainforests, there are several XCMG wood clamps opening their huge
mouth and gripping giant logs with their teeth, doing the transport
operation orderly with the help of the XCMG clamp loaders.
The
worksite is located across the equator in Central Africa. It boasts rich timber
resources with the forest coverage of 85%. XCMG clamp loaders are commonly seen
here transporting wood.
“The
humid and hot climate and dense vegetation in the tropical rainforest have
created a muddy and narrow construction environment. We require products with
strong off-road ability and extraordinary pass ability like XCMG does.” the
project leader complemented while introducing the construction site.
“In
2010, the company began its wood production and proceeding business. We chose
XCMG from the beginning. It is impeccable in terms of product reliability and
operation performance, which boosts efficient production and has made a good
start for our business.”
The
tropical rainforest climate creates distinct dry and rainy seasons. Production
is conducted in the dry season. High-intensity log transport operation are carried
out for more than 12 hours a day in humid and hot environment, thus the
reliability and performance requirements of equipment is obvious.
LW600KN
clamp loader is an improved product based on the 6-ton flagship of XCMG loader.
It has a strong horsepower output of 178kW and is more flexible with a
wheelbase of 3350mm.
The upper
clamp does complex actions such as lateral flattening and pulling of materials.
It can be damaged easily when steering and walking on the rugged road. XCMG
specially designed an articulated protection mechanism that protects the
cylinder and the cylinder pipeline both at the same time.
XC360 clamp
loader is designed for raw forest wood collecting and transferring. It
strengthens the protection of the whole machine; the front axle is equipped
with limited slip differential to enhance slip resistant.
“We
chose XCMG not only for its product performance, but also for its good
post-market support in Africa.” The project leader spoke the voice of the
users.
There
is indeed a lot of pressure to provide quality and in-time maintenance service
to the equipment. Presently, the XCMG equipment onsite have served more than
4000 hours without major failures. XCMG service team inspects the equipment on
time, sets up a well-preserved spare parts warehouse around the user’s
construction site, and makes great effort to ensure the operation.
“Not
only was the maintenance in a timely manner, XCMG service team could always
answer patiently when we bumped into problems. They even provide training so we
can deal with common issues. How thoughtful!”
XCMG
will continue providing high-efficient engineering equipment and complete sets
of solutions for users from various industries around the world.
