XCMG Road Equipment Completes Construction of the Ly-Mankin Highway
On September 4th local time, the asphalt paving of the entire Ly-Mankin Highway in Cameroon was successfully completed. This marks the full completion of the main construction phase of the Ly-Mankin Highway, with XCMG's complete set of road equipment playing a key role in the project.
The Ly-Mankin Highway stretches 96.7 kilometers and serves as a crucial lifeline connecting Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé, to northern regions. The highway is a vital infrastructure project for the country. Cameroon, located near the equator, experiences a tropical rainforest climate with year-round high temperatures and heavy rainfall, and a rainy season that lasts for up to four months each year. Due to the short construction season, the project demanded high efficiency and reliability from the equipment. XCMG's complete set of road machinery, with its stable performance, helped the construction team overcome numerous challenges and ensured the smooth progress of the project despite the harsh conditions.
Cameroon is renowned for its ebony and mahogany. Once the highway is open to traffic, timber and agricultural products from along the route can be transported directly to the capital or ports, which will be vital in boosting the local economy. XCMG’s road machinery provided strong support for the successful construction of the highway, becoming a key force in driving local economic prosperity.
