XCMG Emergency Response to rainstorm Bridge Collapse of Shaanxi Daning Expressway

On July 19th, heavy rains in Shaanxi triggered flash floods, causing the collapse of one side of the Zhashui Bridge on the Daning Expressway. The collapsed No. 2 Bridge spans 366 meters across the Jinqian River, with approximately 40 meters of the bridge collapsing on one side.

In this urgent situation, on July 20th, XCMG’s truss bridge inspection vehicle swiftly arrived to conduct a thorough survey of the damaged bridge.

Facing the complex conditions of the damaged bridge, the survey work was carried out methodically. Staff members worked on an adjustable, horizontally movable platform, utilizing the truss arm's extension and bi-directional rotation to inspect beneath the bridge deck and around the bridge piers. They meticulously checked for safety hazards to minimize secondary damage to surrounding bridge sections and prevent secondary disasters.

It is reported that the survey work is not only focusing on the damaged bridge but also covering the entire section of the highway and bridges affected by the flash flood.

As of now, bridge repair work is ongoing, ensuring the safety and orderly conduct of rescue operations under the bridge. This effort aims to prevent secondary disasters, exemplifying the responsibility and commitment of "Great Nation Heavy Equipment" through practical action.
