The current construction machinery industry has gradually transformed from a traditional labor-intensive industry to a technology-intensive and knowledge-intensive industry, and the competitive mode of industry enterprises has also gradually shifted from focusing on price competition to high-value-added competition supported by high-value patents, especially in overseas high-end markets, good intellectual property layout, analysis and risk response strategies are important tools for enterprises to go abroad.

    Based on this, China Construction Machinery Industry Association, Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Intellectual Property Protection Center, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Patent and Trademark Office jointly carried out Blue book on IP in Construction Machinery Industry. Combining with the association standard GXB/TY0001-2011 and the hot products that appeared in the development of the construction machinery industry, research was conducted according to 15 product categories such as lifting machinery and excavating machinery, analyzing the patent technology information of 50 representative enterprises in the global construction machinery manufacturing industry, comprehensively interpreting the development trend of the construction machinery industry from a patent perspective, studying and drawing conclusions on the development status and technology development trend of intellectual property rights in the construction machinery industry, and giving measures and suggestions from both enterprise and government levels.

    Up to now, XCMG Group, XCMG Machinery, and several subsidiaries have won national intellectual property demonstration enterprises and superior enterprises titles, and have accumulated two China Patent Gold Awards, one Appearance Design Gold Award. These are not only XCMG's achievements, but also the intellectual property achievements of Chinese construction machinery enterprises, which further help Chinese construction machinery enterprises to take their intellectual property to a new level and enhance their international competitiveness.
