These smart tyres will come equipped with a sensor-based tyre pressure monitoring system that can provide real-time notifications through a smartphone app for any inflation or temperature breaches. The built-in sensors of the smart tyres can recognize changes in temperature or pressure, and send notifications to the app, thus assisting in efficient tyre upkeep and reducing the risk of tyre bursts that can cost truckers a significant amount of money.

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, the smart tyres also offer greater fuel efficiency, leading to a decrease in fuel costs, fewer breakdowns, and a real-time asset tracking system that can help prevent tyre thefts. Currently, the intelligent tyres are being tested by a few fleets, and the company plans to introduce them at the start of the upcoming fiscal year.
