The Brazilian machinery and equipment industry had a successful start to the 2023 international calendar as companies participating in the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, closed deals worth USD 16.2 million. In addition to this, an estimated turnover of USD 9.2 million is expected in the following 12 months after the event, bringing the total to USD 25 million.

The Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a collaboration between ApexBrasil and ABIMAQ, reported the figures, with ten Brazilian companies showcasing their products at the IPPE. The event, the world's largest exhibition for technology, equipment, and services used in the production and processing of eggs, meats, poultry, and animal feed, saw a strong Brazilian presence in various sectors.

The deals made were with strategic business-focused countries across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and the USA, who hosted the event. Paulo Guerra, the Head of Institutional Relations and Trade Promotion at ABIMAQ, stated that these regions are essential for the exponential growth of Brazilian machinery and equipment exports. The Brazilian Hall, promoted by the BMS Program, featured new products from the participating companies, including machines, equipment, and solutions.

The USA is the second-largest consumer of animal protein globally and accounts for 12% of exports, with low-cost machinery, high efficiency, and credibility of the Brazilian animal-protein sector being the main drivers of the relationship between the two countries.
